      Dr. Arfsten, a Minnesota native, received his Doctorate from the University of Alabama. His harp studies began with noted harpist/arranger Sharon Watson, who, through her arrangements, inspired him to write music for harp. A man of many talents, in addition to being an accomplished tenor, he can be found playing piano, flute, harp, and organ. Dr. Arfsten has published study materials for high school choirs as well as 6 volumes of music for the harp. 

      In 2007 Dr. Arfsten was awarded a Honorary Lifetime Membership in the South Florida Chapter of the American Harp Society for his immeasurable support and generosity.
